Tripper Tuesday: Philadelphia (Part I)

Good day to everyone and welcome to Tripper Tuesday at Metro Transit Archives. Today, we will visit the city of Brotherly Love AKA Philadelphia, where I spent the last weekend of 2014 fanning and having fun.

Posted below are 25 photos from Center City to West Philadelphia with stops in North Philadelphia and the Wissahickon area. So as usual, sit back and enjoy.

We start with one of the new kids on the block...7383, a 2014 Novabus LFSA Hybrid in Center City, passing the Greyhound terminal with its big cousin, a Prevost X3-45 close behind.

Part of the old guard, Neoplan artic #7143 operates on an early morning assignment on the 33. It will soon be replaced by more Novas.

New Flyer D40LF #5819 is seen at 15th & JFK Blvd in front of City Hall.

The operator of 5451 and the coach itself is pictured taking a break at Wissahickon Transfer Center before a SB trip on the 38.

8482, one of several Verizon phone wraps is spotted at 23rd & Venango at the temporary bus stop as the loop is being rebuilt.

7239, another Neo on the chopping block is pictured with a full body wrap for Snapple on its way to pull in at nearby Midvale District.

To avoid Mailboxing as covered in my last post, I rode down along 22nd Street where the 33 line operates to get some "Natural Habitat" shots. First up was 7178.

7317 all by itself...

Just missed a "train and bus" snapshot but settled for this...

7155 maneuvering in-between double parked cars and tow trucks

In another missed opportunity, 8298 is pictured on Susquehanna on Route 54

7183 has more than a foot to spare as it travels under the same bridge 8298 came out from under a few minutes before...

5749 picks up a passenger while I take my favorite kind of photo...the "Gas Price" shot...

8513 displays Happy Holidays with a full wrap in this frame.

Time for some Regional Rail as this Silverliner V pulls into the North Broad Station

7210, devoid of ads on Market Street near Center City.

5455, one of the first 100 New Flyers for SEPTA is seen passing the post office building near 30th Street in University City

9046, one of 111 Kawasaki trolleys is pictured exiting 40th Street portal in West Philadelphia

9066 passed a mural between 41st & 42nd and Woodland

9111, the last one built for the system bypasses two sister cars heading outbound.

Just like buses, SEPTA also wraps the trolley as shown by 9107 for the Hibachi Grill.

9069 is a inoperable sign is seen here at 45th Street with a trail of cars.

9007 is showing support for the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey team in this shot.

129 numbers and a different propulsion system separate these two buses, parked at Woodland shops

Hoped you enjoyed the presentation. Until next time.
